It's not often that a small, rural communications co-operative is able to go head-to-head with behemoths like Google, AT&T and Time Warner--and win.  But that's exactly what GVTC did when they were the first company to launch Gigabit Internet service to an entire region in Texas this fall.

The service is now available for over 39,000 rooftops, both residential and business, in areas North of San Antonio, to include Boerne, Bulverde/Spring Branch and Gonzalez, Texas.  The enhanced technology positions the area for a potential boom in economic development.  Especially when considering that two of the cities are located in the two fastest growing counties in Texas--Kendall (1st in Texas and 5th in the U.S.) and Comal (2nd in Texas).

As businesses seeking commercial real estate in the quickly growing San Antonio city limits face increasing costs per square foot driven by high demand and decreasing supply, the city's bedroom communities are now poised and primed for growth, to include possible headquarter relocation of some larger businesses.  It was a similar situation in Austin, Texas that started driving businesses such as Dell to the sleepy bedroom community, Round Rock, 20 minutes North of Austin.

The technology capabilities brought about by the GVTC GigaRegion are certain to be a game changer for the area.
